Hopefully, you’re keeping up with all the PlayStation VR content announcements today which include Song in the Smoke and Doom 3: VR Edition. Adding to that list is Schell Games, revealing spy sequel I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and The Liar will support Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) headset later in the year.
Schell Games officially unveiled I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and The Liar back in January, without confirming any VR headsets – even the Steam page doesn’t list any. So today’s announcement makes PlayStation VR the first to be confirmed, a fitting return considering the original launched back in 2016.
“We are thrilled to be coming back to PlayStation VR with the sequel,” said Project Director Charlie Amis on the PlayStation Blog. “It was really a no-brainer. Our PS VR Agents are an integral part of our community, and we can’t wait for players – both new and returning – to experience the new twists, turns, perils, and puzzles IEYTD2 has to offer.”
I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and The Liar will continue the storyline where you play a secret agent tasked with saving the planet from the Zoraxis organization’s latest scheme of world dominance. Naturally, there will be lots of new exciting adventures to go on, new locations and death-defying challenges to complete.
The original I Expect You To Die was a big hit for Schell Games, earning over $6 million USD in gross revenue across all platforms. That’s all thanks to its comfortable gameplay which featured no locomotion, humorous narration and story, and plenty of interactive elements with intertwining puzzles to solve.
With a launch slated for sometime in 2021, when the studio reveals further details including all the other platforms I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and The Liar will support, VRFocus will let you know.
