Admix Sponsoring €5k Grand Prize for VR Days Europe’s XRBASE Investor Event
This will be the third edition for the event.
VR Days Europe began five years ago in Amsterdam, designed to promote the early onset of virtual reality (VR) technology. Returning for another three-day show in November, this year’s event will see the third Investor Event being held over two of those days, designed to help the next wave of startups. Supporting the endeavour, VR/AR monetization platform Admix will be putting up the grand prize of €5,000 EUR for one lucky winner.
Taking place from 13th – 14th November 2019, the XRBASE Investors Event invites venture capital firms interested in European XR start- and scaleups. Over the course of the two days, startups selected will have three minutes to pitch their idea before moving on to the next stage 1-on-1 investor meetings. If they’re really lucky then they’ll be selected for an invite-only dinner hosted by HTC Vive X for further networking opportunities.
“Access to capital is crucial in growing the XR ecosystem, with the investor invent we are giving XR start- and scaleups a high-quality podium to pitch and connect to investors from around the globe,” said Daniel ‘Kip’ Doornink, founder of VR Days Europe and XRBASE, in a statement.
Needless to say, the competition will be fierce with applications open until 15th October 2019. As mentioned, one startup will also walk away with the €5k grand prize. “Admix’s mission is to empower developers, creators and XR entrepreneurs to be successful, and we are delighted to present the Grand Prize to this year’s winner,” said Sam Huber, CEO, Admix, in a statement to VRFocus.
VR Days Europe has become a wide-ranging event featuring speakers from around the world as well as an exhibition so attendees can test the very latest XR technologies. Keynotes, expert sessions, workshops and seminars cover multiple topics from health and tech to business and the arts, with 140+ expert speakers taking part.
Last year’s event pitches included LIV, Gleechi, Poplar, Slanted Theory, Huxley, Hologate, Immersal, Holodeck VR, Vyking, Estudiofuture, Lightfield One, Neurodigital Technologies, QuarkVR and more. The event also has several open calls still running, including submissions for the Halo Awards, the Revolution Pavilion, the EUVR Meetup Summit and for volunteers interested in helping out.
VR Days Europe 2019 Lustrum Edition runs from 13th – 15th November 2019. Tickets are still available with an All Access Pass retailing for €349 (or €299 for returning attendees). For something a little cheaper, the Exhibition Pass only costs €55. Or, for an added bonus use the VRFOCUS10 code for a discount when purchasing tickets via Eventbrite. VRFocus will continue its coverage of VR Days Europe, reporting back with further updates.
