The makers of Alien Zoo are looking at the bigger picture.

Readers of regular VRFocus Sunday feature The VR Job Hub will be aware that the merry-go-round of job hiring never stops in the field of immersive technology. That said it feels like someone’s gone up a few gears in the last couple of weeks on said carousel because we’ve suddenly been inundated with announcements about company restructures and new hires for the board or other key roles of numerous companies that work in virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR).

Dreamscape Immersive headerIt must just be that time of the year, because the latest to blast out an announcement is Los Angeles studio and location-based entertainment (LBE) firm Dreamscape Immersive. The company, known in part for its Alien Zoo installation (whose
six week run sold out in under 24 hours, according to the developer), is financially backed by the likes of AMC Entertainment,21st Century Fox, Warner Bros, Nickelodeon, VR Sense Solutions, Bold Capital Partners and more has revealed two new hires repositions itself for a more global perspective and “gears up to unveil blockbuster content in new retail locations around the globe”

The first is Adam Rockmore, the former Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing and Communications of Fandango.  Rockmore takes on a similar role at Dreamscape Immersive which will see him become Senior Vice President and Global Head of Marketing and Communications “charged with shaping the Dreamscape brand and developing strategic campaigns that will drive audiences to see, touch, and feel the magic of Dreamscape’s virtual worlds.” Explains his new employer. “Drawing upon his previous experience helping transform Fandango into the premier movie experience brand, Adam will develop breakthrough consumer marketing initiatives that will introduce this new form of entertainment to the masses.”

He’s joined by the new Senior Vice President of Global Retail Stores and Operations Ron McJunkin, previously the Head of Global Stores and Operations for wireless speakers and sound system firm Sonos. McJunkin will oversee Dreamscape Immersive’s global retail operations and will work alongside Dreamscape’s investors and partners including AMC Entertainment Holdings, Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), a major mall and cinema operator in the Middle East, and Westfield/Unibail-Rodamco to develop an international footprint for its location-based entertainment centers.”

Aaron Grosky, COO of Dreamscape Immersive said in a statement: “Adam and Ron have taken retail and moviegoing experiences to new heights in their previous positions. Adam led the Fandango brand efforts beyond theatrical ticketing into a complete moviegoing eco-system, and Ron spearheaded an elevated retail strategy for Sonos that put the power of audio on full display. We’re thrilled to bring such heavyweights to Dreamscape as we gear up to unveil our imagining of what interactive, story-driven immersive experiences can be.”
