A new virtual reality (VR) title called Land of Amara has been revealed by Paw Stamp Studio that looks to offer players the chance to experience the thrill of a farming simulator. Inspired by videogames such as Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing, Land of Amara looks and sounds like a promising title. Now, a ten-minute long trailer has been released that showcases some early alpha gameplay for the title.
The project, which is being made by a solo developer called Finn, has been in development for around three months now. Though it is a passion project Finn is keen to expand the development and bring many features to the title. The first goal is to finish a small but fully functional version of Land of Amara which players could try out for themselves. From here, a version including all the basics that a farming simulator should have will be worked on followed by a number large, more expanded version.
Finn hopes to add numerous types of animals, different weather effects and seasons, along with growing the environment around the farm to include a detailed forest with caves to explore accompanied by a village and its villagers. This would then create opportunities for players to buy, sell, trade and even make friends. Finn is hoping to build a community around the development of the title by using Patron to get early support from players and get them involved in discussions about gameplay features.
The interesting part of Land of Amara is that because it is a VR title, players will take on the role of a giant overseer like being – similar to ‘god games‘ – and be able to interact or influence the world from this high view point. Constructing buildings, watering crops, planting seeds, picking up characters and animals, along with so much more will all be possible within this cute looking title.
Finn is hoping to bring Land of Amara to Oculus Rift at the moment will plans in place to bring it over to the HTC Vive, PlayStation VR and if possible Oculus Go as well. VRFocus will be sure to bring you all the latest on Land of Amara in the future so stay tuned for more.
