The developer behind popular virtual reality (VR) zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine have teamed up with INNERSPACE to create a new VR title. Changing pace away from frantic zombie shooting, A Fisherman’s Tale is instead a surreal puzzle-adventure which will be heading to PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality.
The development team will be making A Fisherman’s Tale available to try out for the first time at Gamescom 2018, where it will be at the Indie Arena Booth.
A Fisherman’s Tale has the player take the role of a tiny fisherman puppet called bob, who lives alone in a cabin, playing little attention to the world outside. However, a sudden storm warning forces Bob to leave his cabin and climb the lighthouse in order to turn on the light, only to realise that not everything is quite what it seems.
Players will have some unusual sidekicks along for the ride, who will help you out along your journey up the lighthouse. This will involves solving various puzzles, as well as picking up, combining or even throwing various objects in order to get to your goal.
Things start to get surreal as you enter the lighthouse, only to find another model lighthouse you can pick up and play wish… is that another lighthouse? How deep does this strangeness go, and what is the truth behind this story? These are questions awaiting the player in A Fisherman’s Tale.
“A Fisherman’s Tale is an extremely polished and charming VR title, and clearly a work of passion for its creators over at INNERSPACE,” said Richard Stitselaar, Managing Director at Vertigo Games. “We’re proud to be in a place where Vertigo Games is able to contribute to the success of other VR studios, by supporting them in the areas of marketing and distribution and leveraging the network and expertise that we built when we published our own VR titles.”
