Seeking to combine the tactical gameplay of Rainbow Six Siege, the PvP multiplayer action of Counter-Strike and SWAT 4’s choice of equipment and gadgets and bring it all into virtual reality (VR) is the ambition of independent development studio Ignibit, who have just announced sign-ups for a closed bet for Zero Killed.
The title is said to focus heavily on team co-operation and communication. Players will need to be adaptable and react to changing conditions on the virtual battlefield.
Players will have ten different characters to choose from, who ranging in characteristics from the heavily armoured Big Foot, to the ex-Navy demolition expert Ox. Each character has their own loadout, unique gadget and special perk, which gives players a selection of play-styles to choose from.
There are four game modes planned, which includes ‘Data Steal’, Domination’, ‘Hunt’ and ‘Tournament’. Each of these will take place in three locations, which have been named as Nuclear, Suburbs and Sewers.
The main gameplay involves 4 vs 4 gameplay. Players will be able to travel across the environment without teleporting, and movement such as sprinting, climbing and ladder sliding is all included.
Players can take advantage of different equipment loadouts and gadgets to try and gain an advantage. Dynamic actions are also possible, such as if a enemy throws a grenade, there is always the option to try and throw it back.
The development team have aimed for realistic weapon behaviours, including recoil, damage models and obstacle penetration. All weapons have been equipped with easy-to-use holographic or laser sights.
The title is planned for release on Steam for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift sometime in September, 2018. Interested players can sign up for the closed beta by visiting the official Zero Killed website.
