Hit The Hive Leaves Early Access Today

Go head-to-head against waves of procedurally generated enemies in virtual reality.

Developer VOID VR’s virtual reality (VR) title about doing battle against evil robot insects from space has left Early Access and is now available in full. Hit The Hive is a procedurally generated title where variables from the amount of enemies, type and even their attack speed and patterns can vary between each wave along with being random generated.

By building procedural generation into the title, the team at VOID VR have designed Hit The Hive to offer a near limitless number of possibilities to ensure the experience is also fresh and exciting. Armed with a blaster and a shield, players will need to keep their wits about them as they come face-to-face with hordes of extremely dangerous Hive robots with frighteningly powerful weapons and relentless machine hearts.

The procedural generation extends past the enemies and even into the levels that players will encourage. From close quarters combat to long range precision warfare, epic battles against the endless hordes of enemies are always going to be coming thick and fast. Should you have the endurance to outlast the enemy then you might make it to the fight with the queen of the Hive. It might seem like a suicidal mission, but with enough blood, sweat and tears you are sure to succeed.

During its time in Early Access, the team at VOID VR encouraged the community to get involved with the development of the title. This included providing feedback and bug reports, submitting their scores to the leaderboards and by speaking up about how they find the experience within the title to help the developers decide where to take the videogame next. So for those who enjoy Hit The Hive, make sure to get involved with the community and share your views with the development team.

Hit The Hive is now available on Steam for £8.99 (GBP) with support for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. A demo is also available which can be download from the same store page on Steam as well. VRFocus will be sure to bring you all the latest on the title and the developer VOID VR in the future, so stay tuned for more.
