The Top Selling VR Games on SteamVR for 2018 Include Beat Saber, Skyrim VR & SUPERHOT VR
And most of them feature in the Steam Summer Sale.
Today is the last day of the Steam Summer Sale so if you’ve not grabbed a bargain then you’ve only got a few short hours to do so. But that’s not always the easiest of choices due to the wealth of virtual reality (VR) content on the platform. Handily, SteamVR has provided a list of the top selling VR titles of 2018 so far.
All the videogames have been split into four categories for easy digestion; Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Platinum has few surprises instore, with the likes of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, Fallout 4 VR, Beat Saber, Pavlov, SUPERHOT VR, Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives and several more. And just to make that buying decision even easier, most of them are on sale with a minimum of 25 percent off.
Going down the categories it’s a who’s who of some of the best titles that VR has to offer, with most players needing to own at least one from every category. LA-based studio Survios has two of its videogames in the gold selection, Raw Data and Sprint Vector, while in Silver there’s the rather good Moss, Doom VFR and The Mage’s Tale. The Bronze section shouldn’t be over looked either as this contains gems like Island 359, Apex Construct, Vanishing Realms and Battlezone.
As is usually the case with a Steam sale the problem is never lack of content to buy just which is more important for your own personal tastes.
While Valve is pushing lots of bargains your way the company is in the middle of developing the latest VR hardware. Just over a week ago it showcased new images of the Knuckles controllers and a SteamVR Skeletal Input system which were going out to developers. That was then followed by a new demo called Moondust, designed specifically for the Knuckles EV2 devices.
On the headset side, HTC is now taking pre-orders for the HTC Vive Pro 2.0 kit which is retailing for $1,299 USD and designed more towards location-based entertainment venues. For the latest news on deals for VR software and hardware, keep reading VRFocus.
