SVRVIVE Studios Takes Aim at Location-Based Entertainment With SynthesisVR
Both of the studios previous two VR releases will be available on the platform.
The location-based entertainment (LBE) industry is proving to be a lucrative lure for many virtual reality (VR) developers looking to expand their portfolio to new avenues as well as increase profits. The latest to announce its foray into the LBE scene is Swedish developer SVRVIVE Studios, the team behind Kartong – Death by Cardboard! and SVRVIVE: The Deus Helix.
SVRVIVE Studios has launched its own SynthesisVR platform for VR arcades to use, with creepy stealth shooter Kartong – Death by Cardboard! and puzzle experience SVRVIVE: The Deus Helix both available.
In a statement Joy Bratt Martinez, Marketing & Community Manager at SVRVIVE Studios said:
“As an “immersive first” studio we’ve been following the VR-arcade scene thoroughly and have been working hard towards creating games and experiences that can be played and enjoyed at the public arcade or from the comfort of your own VR space.
“We’ve always sought to create games with strong narratives, replayability and gameplay that could only be achieved in the world of Virtual Reality! It is all about the fun of discovery, and truth be told; If you’re not having fun, you were probably spooked!
“For us, the choice was clear. SynthesisVR has made a name out of themselves distributing and helping out the VR-scene become the sensation it is now. We felt it was a great starting point to then later on expand our reach to other markets as well! We as a studio firmly believe that VR and arcades go hand-in-hand and we couldn’t be more happy about taking the first step into the VR-arcade market with you all! We’re still looking for more awesome ways to reach out to arcades around the world and to cooperate with several more markets so, be on the lookout for our games at your local VR-arcade!”
To mark the occasion and to tempt arcade owners into trying the platform, SVRVIVE Studios is giving free tests keys away through SynthesisVR for both titles before any transaction needs to be made. VRFocus will continue its coverage of SVRVIVE Studios, reporting back with its latest announcements.
