One of the elements that makes an augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) experience more immersive is the movement of the users as they are immersed within the moment. For those looking to goes through the thrill of zipping through the sky while enjoying an immersive experience, then a new AR zip line over London will be the attraction for you.
The attraction, called Zip Now London, is calling itself the world’s first AR zip line and will give users a chance to stand above the sky line of London and travel at high speed in a range of experiences. Located between the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament, Zip Now London have teamed up with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority to put on the attraction.
Zip Now London features three 225 meter zip lines with speeds of up to 50 kph at a height of 35 meters. Users can opt to ride the zip line without the VR headset and enjoy the sights of London but should they put the headset on then they can experience the sights of the Jebel Jais Flight, located in Ras Ai Khaimah. This attraction in Dubai set the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest zip line at 2.83 km long when it launched in February of this year. The attraction has already hosted over 10,000 guests and even a mid-air marriage proposal.
Now, thanks to the immersive technology of AR and VR, those at Zip Now London can enjoy the world record holding attraction in Dubai for themselves. Once more, all those who take a ride on the zip line will be in for a chance to win a holiday to the United Arab Emirates.
Tickets for Zip Now London are available to book via the attractions website and prices range from £26.50 (GBP) for a single adult ticket if booking in advance up to £55 for a family ticket (1 adult and 2 children) and even a £99 unlimited day pass. Prices for walking up to the attraction on the day are £30 per adult, £20 for children and £25 concessions.
