The 2018 World Cup might be over with England coming away empty handed – although getting to the semi-finals was still good – but that doesn’t mean to say you can’t keep the excitement going. Today, Cherry Pop Games has announced a new update for Football Nation VR and with it a new demo for PlayStation VR owners.
The free content update for the PlayStation VR version adds a bunch of new features including the all-new striker mode, allowing you to play in a penalty shoot out head-to-head online or against the AI to hit targets in an all-out shooting experience.
Plus there’s now custom teams, selectable AI difficulty between Easy, Medium and Hard, updated controls to make it easier to pick up and play, a new face to ball/goal button directing player goal orientation and an updated goal replay system so you now get to see the players in the replay as well as the ball
“Our latest content update will fill the undeniable void left by the World Cup, one of our main focuses has been to improve the players experience, it was clear to us that the player wanted more memorable footballing moments – giving players the chance to be the star player and in doing this giving you more time on the ball,” commented Gemma Jessop, Cherry Pop Games, in a statement. “This is just one one in a list of game optimisations provided in this update, including; further control improvements, varying AI difficulty levels and the launch of a free demo on PlayStation VR so you can now jump in online and play for your country for free. It’s a great introduction to the new game mechanics.”
Additionally, there’s a Star Moments feature which makes you partially immune to other players stealing the ball and your glory as you go for goal, the only cravat, it can only be used once per match.
