Entertainment and educational videogame development studio Schell Games have unveiled their next title in the form of HoloLAB Champions. This new immersive virtual realty (VR) title puts users onto the center stage of a chemistry themed gameshow where knowing their science will be key to succeeding and winning a holo-brain trophy.
HoloLAB Champions has been as been created through support by the Institute of Education Sciences (part of the U.S. Department of Education) and the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The title will allow users to interact and compete safely in a lab environment without investing in any tangible lab equipment. Creating the correct reacts and performing actual measurements correctly will allow for users to complete challenges and progress through the gameshow style environment
Thanks to the gameshow style that title is going for, users can expect to come across some laughs throughout the title as their are guided through the experience by hosts Earl and Meyer. As mentioned, completing challenges will reward users with trophies that will show their understanding of the subject area. HoloLAB Champions is being developed with students and education in mind but can also be enjoyed by anyone looking to have a fun time with science.
Schell Games have a proven track record of developing engaging and entertaining VR experiences, having also been the minds behind the popular I Expect You To Die. The VR escape-the-room puzzle title has players traveling the world as an elite secret agent as they try to survive a series of deadly situations in dangerous locales. The title released on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR, a testament to the companies commit to bring entertaining experiences to as wide an audience as they can.
HoloLAB Champions is set to release on 10th July and will support the HTC Vive on release, as listed on the title’s Steam store page.
