Brovision reveal their nextest title while NextVR and BT Sport bring more 360 video to viewers.

The weekend is here and VRFocus is back once again to bring you another entry of This Week In VR Sport. With a number of sports related virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) stories, there is plenty to enjoy this week with the reveal of VR ice hockey, NBA highlights and even the UEFA Champions League in 360-degree.

Step Onto The Virtual Ice In Hockey Player VR

Earlier this week a new trailer dropped for an upcoming VT sports title in the from of Hockey Player VR. Developed by Brovision, the new title will allow players the chance to step onto the ice in this first-person hockey game with up to four player online matches. Though the teaser trailer does not give much in the way of details it does confirm that the ttle will be coming to a number of different platforms including Oculus Rift, Steam VR, Oculus Go, Samsung Gear VR and Google Daydream.

Watch NBA Highlights In VR Thanks To NextVR

NextVR, the leader in broadcasting live events in VR and the official League Pass VR Partner of the NBA, have ben delivering their signature immersive VR experience to NBA fans all season. They recently introduced the 2017-2018 season NBA MVP highlight reel live in the NextVR app, offering fans a chance to go courtside with this season’s MVP favourite in VR. NextVR brings fans closer to the action with more views of the court than anyone else. This means that viewers can enjoy the best compilation of shots, dunks and assists from the season all within a completely immersive experience.

NextVR brought more games in VR to viewers with the introduction of the NextVR screening room which allows subscribers the chance to watch any NBA League Pass match on a virtual movie theater-sized screen. Fans can immerse themselves in a 360-degree VR environment with the opportunity to select up to 13 NBA games to livestream on a huge virtual screen, in addition to their signature immersive experience that featured all 30 teams over the course of the season.

The free NextVR app is available to download on PlayStation VR, Windows Mixed Reality, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Go and Google Daydream. Once downloaded users can access the highlights of the season for free and enjoy the immersive experience.

BT Sport Releasing 360-Degree Highlights of UEFA Europa League And UEFA Champions League Finals

UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League

BT Sport announced earlier this week that they will once again be live streaming the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League finals live on YouTube, as well as on its application and website, alongside providing a number of 360-degree highlights via the application.

Last season viewers were able to watch the match between Real Madrid and Juventus in Cardiff in 360-degree VR on the BT Sport application with a compatible headset as part of a trial. This year, BT Sport will once again transmit both the finals matches in 4K HD on BT TV along with providing 360-degree highlights for viewers to enjoy through the application afterwards. The UEFA Europa League final took place earlier this week, with the highlights available to watch now with the UEFA Champions League final taking place on May 26th.

“We have always said that we want to make top quality sport available to more people and so once again we will be making the UEFA Champions League Final and the UEFA Europa League Final available to all to watch online for free,” said Pete Oliver, managing director for marketing and sales at BT Consumer. “This season we have shown some absolutely amazing games and have had some of our biggest games to date with our UEFA Champions League viewing figures up by 47 per cent this season. The final is set to be a classic and we can’t wait to bring it to football fans across the UK.”
