Infinadeck and TPCAST Partner for Wireless Walk Anywhere VR

Did Ready Player One get you all fired up for immersive virtual reality (VR), then you realised it’s not quite at Oasis levels just yet? Well some of the tech in the film wasn’t so futuristic with Infinadeck Omnidirectional VR treadmill making an appearance. Today, Infinadeck has announced a new partnership with wireless VR specialists TPCAST, allowing users to take a stroll through vast, immersive new worlds untethered.

TPCAST was the first company to offer a wireless solution for VR headsets, initially for HTC Vive and then Oculus Rift.  Supporting 2K video transmission at 90FPS with sub 2ms latency, the wireless adapter helps preserve the video quality and application performance for a smooth experience with a battery that can last for up to 6 hours of operation. Most recently, TPCAST announced multi-user Wireless VR support through its Business Edition Wireless Adapter for the HTC Vive.

The Infinadeck Omnidirectional VR treadmill is a patented device that allows users to naturally walk in any direction. The company recently announce a new Beta Unit Testing and Software Development Program in March.

“Infinadeck is pleased to be partnering with TPCAST and delivering a complete immersive solution and enhanced experience to VR users,” said Ben Freeman, Infinadeck CEO in a statement. “With the TPCAST wireless solution, the installation and operation of the Infinadeck VR Treadmill is seamless and the user is completely independent and free from VR cables. We look forward to working with TPCAST on their Business Edition going forward.”

To test both TPCAST and the Infinadeck Omnidirectional VR treadmill together you’ll want to head to the Silicon Valley Virtual Reality meetup on 16th May. For further details from Infinadeck and TPCAST, keep reading VRFocus.
