Skydance Interactive are opening up the world of its action-shooter title Archangel to multiplayer introducing both cooperative and competitive multiplayer with a free update that will also introduce new maps and new mech classes.
The new update is called Archangel: Hellfire and will be made available to all players who have a copy of Archangel as a free update from 28th June, 2018.
For those looking to try out the title, the Team Deathmatch mode will be made available free to all for a limited time, and will include the new mechs, abilities and player-vs-player (PvP) maps. Players who already have a copy of Archangel will be able to hone their skills with Early Access Battle Training, which will begin on 25th May, four weeks ahead of the main launch.
“Archangel: Hellfire will deliver the most intense and immersive multiplayer mech combat that players have ever experienced,” said Peter Akemann, President of Skydance Interactive. “The team is working hard to bring the player-versus-player off-rails combat that fans have been asking for, and really embody that fantasy of piloting a giant building-sized mech. And with the free team PvP multiplayer experience, all VR gamers will soon have a chance to hop into the cockpit and prove their mettle.”
The plot of Archangel concerns the aftermath of an ecological disaster which has led to much of the world being under the control of HUMNX, a corporation with a driving desire to ‘fix’ the world regardless of the cost in lives. The resistance have begun to strike back using its experimental weapon, the Archangel mech. However, HUMNX have plenty of resources to build weaponry equal to the archangel, showing that the war has only just begun.
Archangel: Hellfire will introduce Team Deathmatch which will involve 2v2 PvP combat, and cooperative mode as well as four new maps, six warrior mechs and new cockpit controls. The update will be made available for free for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift on 28th June 2018.
