Arizona Sunshine Coming to European Retail Stores Next Month for PlayStation VR
Physical copies will be available from 21st March.
While most PlayStation VR videogames are predominantly digital only there are a few that have made it to full retail release. The latest to make that jump is Vertigo Games’ zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine, set to be released as a physical copy for European customers next month.
Richard Stitselaar, Vertigo Games’ Studio Director, made the announcement on the European PlayStation Blog, saying: “After months of daily community requests, we are thrilled to finally be able to announce that we are partnering with Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe to bring Arizona Sunshine to European retail stores this March!”
The disk version will be exactly the same as its digital cousin, featuring the recently released ‘Free DLZ’, adding two maps to Horde mode: the pitch-black Old Mine and the warehouse-turned-underground casino, Undead Valley. The two-handed weapon update will also be included, equipping players with 13 new two-handed weapons. Originally developed with the PlayStation VR Aim Controller in mind new guns include rifles, assault rifles or sub-machine guns as well as an additional campaign mode. Vertigo Games announced the weapon update a couple of months ago, at the time it didn’t specify when the additional content would become available. There’s no confirmation on whether the update will come to Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets at the same time.
Arizona Sunshine includes both single-player and multiplayer modes, The campaign can be played solo and in co-op, where you embark on a quest to find other survivors across a zombie-overrun American South-West. With scarce gear, ammo, and consumables, you need to loot from your undead enemies and the post-apocalyptic surroundings to survive.
Last month Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive announced a special location-based version of Arizona Sunshine. Demoed on the HTC Vive stand during CES 2018, Neither Vertigo Games or HTC Vive have revealed when this new version of Arizona Sunshine will be rolled out to VR centres, or which locations these might be in.
European customers will be able to buy physical copies of Arizona Sunshine from 21st March 2018. For any further updates, keep reading VRFocus.
