GOVR has today announced plans to host a launch party for the highly anticipated Fallout 4 VR, set to launch on HTC Vive next week. Taking place on 12th December 2017, the Fallout 4 VR launch party will be celebrated next to the Brighton beach front and will be attended by London-based YouTube personality JadeKVR.
Fallout 4 VR is a virtual reality (VR) rendition of Fallout 4, which launched to critical acclaim in 2016. Taking place in the year 2287, the videogame casts the player as a survivor of a war between the United States and China over natural resources that ended in a nuclear holocaust in 2077. The player’s character takes shelter in Vault 111 the day the bombs drop, and emerges to meet a brand new world 210 years later.
VRFocus has been hands-on with the videogame on many occasions, stating in a preview of Fallout 4 VR: “The videogame already provides a wealth of content – perhaps more than any VR title to date – and for that it could be argued that repaying the premium price for entry is wholly worth it.”
With regards to GOVR’s launch party for Fallout 4 VR, Mark Bou Mansour, Co-founder at GOVR, said: “People on the fence about virtual reality are often holding out for that game that feels just right. Fallout 4 VR brings together the exciting new field of VR with one of the most loved gaming franchises, making it possible to experience the Fallout universe like never before. We’re very excited to be able to bring this game to Brighton.”
GOVR recently hosted Brighton’s first virtual reality tournament, and the start up has since been making waves in the city by disrupting the standard VR arcade model, making the technology more affordable and accessible.
GOVR’s launch event for Fallout 4 VR will take place in Brighton’s newest gaming and board game café, C:\ Side Quest, on 12th December 2017. Tickets to the launch party are available via GOVR’s official website and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on other VR events hosted by the Brighton-based team.
