The season of ghouls and ghosts is upon us with everyone getting ready for Halloween in a couple of weeks time. While you may already be prepared with your carved pumpkins, fake vampire teeth and spider shaped sweets, for those out shopping for their fancy dress outfits shopping centre giant Hammerson has released a new augmented reality (AR) app to entertain the kids, featuring everybody’s favourite mystery solving pooch, Scooby Doo.
Being released in time for Halloween, the AR Scooby Doo title will allow shoppers to interact with Scooby, Shaggy and all the other characters from the well loved cartoon series reports the Sunday Express. Visitors to Hammerson’s retail locations simply point their smartphones at objects and locations dotted around the area to active the experience.
No details were given on which smartphone devices this would support, so presumably iPhones will work and possibly Android devices.
Hammerson will be running the promotion at 10 of its sites, including the Bullring in Birmingham, Brent Cross in London, Westquay in Southampton and Highcross in Leicester.
