Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is currently expected to be released some time in 2018. Bandai Namco are whetting the appetites of fans with a new video that displays some of the complex aerial stunts pilots can pull off in a gameplay trailer.
Pilots train for years to be able to pull off high-speed aerial manoeuvres such as the famous ‘Cobra’, also known as the Pugachev Cobra or, more properly, the post-stall manoeuvre. In real-life, this demanding manoeuvre involves an airplane suddenly raising its nose until the plane is almost vertical, then dropping back into normal flight.
The developers behind Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown have made it possible for skilled players to replicate this within the gameplay, in order to dodge enemy fire, or pull up suddenly behind an enemy aircraft, offering a perfect target for weapons fire.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown features a story in which the Kingdom of Erusea is under attack by the bigger and better funded Osean Federation after Erusea objected to the building of a space elevator on their sovereign territory. You can watch the gameplay trailer below.
