Back at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Los Angeles, in June, Microsoft announced that the Xbox One X console would go on sale worldwide on 7th November 2017. Today, the pre-order campaign has begun and is now available at many international retailers.
The campaign begun as part of Microsoft’s pre-Gamescom press conference, in which it was revealed that a special edition of the console would be available for launch day purchasers. Known as the ‘Project Scorpio Edition’, this collectors item includes the unique homage to the development name of the system on the control pad and the console itself.
The Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition includes the same content as the standard edition of the console plus a unique stand. Microsoft has stated, however, that there will be very limited quantities of the console available.
Inside the box will be the following contents: Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition 1TB Console, Project Scorpio Edition Wireless Controller, Xbox One X Vertical Stand, 1 month Game Pass subscription trial, 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial, HDMI cable (4K capable), and AC Power cable.
Retailers across the globe have begun their pre-order campaigns, including Amazon and GAME, and are mostly sticking to the line with regards to pricing: $499 USD in the US and a £449 GBP price tag in the UK. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on the Xbox One X and any further details on the console’s virtual reality (VR) compatibility.
