Videogames like Temple Run have proven to be popular on mobile devices but how well do they translate into virtual reality (VR)? Well Oculus Rift and HTC Vive owners can now find out as Russian developer Panoramik Inc. has released Runaway VR on Steam.
As with any speed-runner style title, Runaway VR is all about getting as far through the level as possible, along the way picking up as many coins as you can to increase your score. All the controls are achieved via the headset, you’ll have to weave from side to side, duck under low obstacles and physically jump across gaps.
A purely single-player experience, Runaway VR features a worldwide leader board so that players can compare their best performances.
“We designed Runaway VR to be as intuitive as possible, while still making full use of the VR headsets functionality,” said Vlad Zhilyaev, CEO of Panoramik Inc. “This will allow you to fully enjoy the thrilling and fantastic adventure with its own obstacles! Just keep running!”
Available now on Steam, the videogame is currently on offer with a 30 percent discount, dropping the price from £5.99 GBP to £4.19.
