Inaugural Australian Virtual Reality Film Festival Launches Next Week

When you think about film festivals showcasing the latest virtual reality (VR) content major events like Sundance, Tribeca or Cannes most likely spring to mind. The first two take place in the US while the latter is held in France, fine if you live in or near those countries but what happens when when you live in Australia and want something a bit more local. Well next week is the inaugural Australian Virtual Reality Film Festival (AVRFF) being held in Brisbane.

The AVRFF has partnered with Screen Queensland and Brisbane Powerhouse for the three day event, with small booths allowing the public to enjoy the films in their own time. Each booth will provide background information on the films and house a HTC Vive headset.
