The Nürburgring is one of the most famous – and famously demanding – racing circuits in the world. Used by car manufacturers to thoroughly test their machines, now the cars from the Gran Turismo Sport roster can be seen taking on the circuit in the new trailer.
The new trailer shows the course at night, allowing developer Polyphony Digital to show off its impressive lighting effects, both inside and outside the car. The inside view shows the car interior in darkness, with only instrument panels providing light until another car comes close, allowing the headlights to illuminate the cabin.
Players will be able to experience the punishing course for themselves in virtual reality (VR) with the 1 vs 1 mode, which while not a full-rostered race, will still give a sense of the experience of how difficult and demanding the Nürburgring truly is.
Professional racing drivers have already offered praise for the upcoming title in a previous trailer, where Nissan Pro Drivers Ricardo Sanchez and Jann Mardenborough commented on the realism offered by Gran Turismo Sport, particularly in VR mode.
Gran Turismo Sport is due for release in October for the PlayStation VR. A special Gran Turismo Sport branded PlayStation 4 slim will be released that same month. A price point for the title is yet to be confirmed.
