VR RTS Legion Commander Confirmed for PlayStation VR Western Release
More PlayStation VR news ahead of Sony's press conference.
There’s only a few hours to go until Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) begins its press conference for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017. The event will hopefully feature plenty of announcements regarding its virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) PlayStation VR, and things seem to be going in the right direction. SIE has held a small event for press showcasing some of the titles that’ll be on demonstration at E3 and one of them is Legion Commander.
Billed as a real-time strategy (RTS) experience, Legion Commander is the work of Chinese developer ChangYou, and with an appearance at E3, confirms the title will be made available to western audiences.
The studio originally announced the title back in August 2016, reports 2p.com. Interestingly, while Legion Commander has appeared for PlayStation VR, cross-platform compatibility is also on the cards, with support planned for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Google Daydream and Samsung Gear.
Featuring card-based battles, Legion Commander is set in a Medieval fantasy-themed world, with three factions and 36 different styles of troops to deploy, sounding very similar to Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR title Dragon Front.
As VRFocus learns more about the title and its possible cross-platform functionality we’ll let you know. For all the latest VR news from E3, keep reading.
