Today, Ubisoft has begun its Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 press conference in Los Angeles, California. With a virtual reality (VR) reveal expected the company hasn’t disappointed, announcing Transference in collaboration with SpectreVision
A psychological thriller, Transference aims to bridge the gap between movies and VR videogames. The official description reads: “Escape the maze-like puzzle of an impossible home concealing a corrupted truth. Meet the troubled family members and get hands-on to solve their riddle through a multi branching narrative. ”
Transference is scheduled for release in Spring 2018 for PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
The announcement continues Ubisoft’s commitment to VR with the company having previously released Werewolves Within, Eagle Flight and the very well received Star Trek: Bridge Crew, which launched last month.
While the press conferences from Microsoft and Electronic Arts (EA) were disappointing for VR news – Microsoft did unveil a new division called SEED – Bethesda’s event certainly didn’t. The studio reveal both DOOM VFR and Fallout 4 VR, both for HTC Vive with the former also seeing a release on PlayStation VR. Both of them are also available to pre-order either on Steam or PlayStation.Store.
