The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 press conferences are well underway, with Electronic Arts (EA), Microsoft, Bethesda and Ubisoft all having completed theirs. It’s not over just yet, tomorrow Nintendo has its press event – no virtual reality (VR) news is expected from that one – but more importantly Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has its showcase later today. At a smaller hands-on event SIE has been demoing titles visitors can expect to see on the show floor, seven of which are VR.
VRFocus has already reported on the two newbies in the group, No Heroes Allowed! VR and Legion Commander, both from developers based in Japan and China respectively, and confirmed for western releases on PlayStation VR.
The other titles are already well known about, Farpoint, the first-person shooter (FPS) launched last month alongside the Aim controller. What is new however is the reveal that the first piece of DLC will be arriving for the title, called Cryo Pack, on 27th June, set to feature 2-player co-op, challenge levels and an ice world.
Also in attendance is Skydance Interactive’s story driven shooter Archangel due for release next month, Tiny Trax a slot car racer from FuturLab, ROM: Extraction another FPS, this time from First Contact which originally released on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, and lastly Gran Turismo Sport.
