One of the sponsors behind Americas Cup challenger is offering fans of the yacht race the chance to get closer to the action with a series of virtual reality (VR) video produced in collaboration with VR content creator Parable VR and The Gild.
The VR videos will feature the Japanese challengers for this year’s America Cup, SoftBank Team Japan, who will be taking on previous winners Oracle Team USA. The three videos will introduce viewers to the team, show how the team operate their state-of-the-art yacht and what their plans are for after the race.

We wanted to share this experience with the public and provide an opportunity for the community to benefit from a fully immersive experience. Having the America’s Cup take place in Bermuda is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we want everyone to see what it’s like on one of the boats.”

Fans and members of the public will be able to download the free Argus app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to view the videos. Argus will also be offering free headsets at the One Communications store in Hamilton and at various pop-up events during the Americas Cup in Bermuda.
