Last year developer SETAPP launched puzzle title Neverout for Samsung Gear VR, with VRFocus rating it 5-stars saying: ‘so engaging it makes it one of Gear VR’s best titles’. Today the studio has announced support for both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, with the videogame due to arrive next week for the headsets.
Neverout puts players in a cube, each cube has a different puzzle inside and only one way out. To solve the levels they can turn the entire cube around to find the best means of escape, but will need to watch out for all manner of traps and obstacles in their path like spiked pits, electric fields movable blocks and teleports.
For this new release SETAPP has updated Neverout with HD graphics and extensive controller support. Oculus Touch and the Oculus Remote are supported alongside the Xbox One controller, and the HTC Vive’s motion controllers work.
Players will be able to work through over 60 levels divided across four zones. SETAPP estimates the amount of content provided should give over 5 hours of immersive gameplay.
The studio has been mindful of creating a comfortable experience for players so Neverout features a comfort mode with special mechanics, to hopefully ensure a lack of motion sickness even during most intense puzzle levels.
Neverout is heading to Steam and Oculus Store on 18th May 2017 with a $9.99 USD price tag.
