A new development studio based in Sweden focusing on virtual reality (VR) videogame experiences has announced that they have completed the assembly of its staff team and will be announcing its first title in June 2017.
Located in Stockholm, Logtown Studios now has a nine-person team, which includes founder Daniel Nyberg and an alumni of Electronic Arts and BioWare, Lion Martinez along with veteran designer from the mobile videogaming sector, Alberto Amigo.
Regarding joining the team, lead designer Alberto Amigo said: “With the level of talent we’ve managed to assemble in this short amount of time, I’m very confident we can build the experiences that Hannah Idén Gustafsson (Producer/2D Artist) and I envisioned.”
CEO Per Wahlfridsson had this to say: “This is a great moment in Logtown’s history. Finding the right people for the company has been crucial. It’s been a tough process but we have hired a diverse team of warm and reliable people, whose talents and dedication mirrors Logtown’s values. We are ready to embark on our journey.”
The full details on the title that the studio plan to release is not yet known, though the team have said it will be available on ‘All major VR platforms’. While ‘major’ platforms usually refers to tethered PC VR, that there are experienced mobile videogame developers on the team could mean that the title will be for platforms such as Samsung Gear VR or Google Daydream. Whatever the title turns out to be, it will be the first that the studio has produced since its formation.
VRFocus will bring you further information on Logtown Studios’ VR projects, and VR titles from other indie studios, as soon as it becomes available.
