It’s fairly safe to say that Job Simulator is one of the success stories of virtual reality (VR). It has passed $3 million is sales, been featured by numerous popular YouTube personalities such as Jacksepticeye and Markiplier and even got its own line of merchandise. However, up until now, the title was only available as a digital download.
The official twitter of developer Owlchemy Labs has announced that the PlayStation VR version of Job Simulator is getting a physical release. Now fans of the title will be able to own a boxed copy of the videogame and admire how it looks setting on the shelf. Currently there are only plans for a North American release, though Owlchemy Labs say they will make another announcement if there are any plans for a physical release in other regions.
Job Simulator has become one of the most popular and recognisable VR titles, netting the development team at Owlchemy Labs several awards. The title puts the player in a far-future world run by robots, where humans need to be re-taught how to do simple work tasks like filing, assisted by robot guide JobBot. JobBot himself has become something of a star in his own right, featuring prominently in a line of Job Simulator merchandise, to the point of there being a plushie version of him available to buy.
It isn’t currently known when the physical copies will be made available, nor has it been announced if the price for the physical version will be the same as the digital version. Owlchemy Labs advises fans to keep an eye on the Owlchemy official twitter and blog for further information.
