Today Surreal VR, an indie videogame development studio that’s part of HTC Vive X has announced the launch of its second virtual reality (VR) title Drone Fighters.
Arriving on Steam Early Access for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift with Touch support, Drone Fighters, is an aerial combat experience featuring an assortment of drones. For this initial release players will have access to four arenas, four drones, five weapons, 16 drone skins and avatar customisation.
Drone Fighters includes both single-player and multiplayer modes, with 18 solo challenges and online matchmaking.
In terms of future content Surreal VR notes on the Steam page that it will be: “More polished, more stages, more weapons and more features. Some of our big plans are: adding spectator mode, drone fighter teams, built your drone from scratch, rating system for fighter analysis, live team tournaments, co-op solo missions and team versus fights.”
The title is available now with a limited time discount available. Until 28th April, gamers can get a 30 percent saving off the regular price, dropping the cost from $14.99 USD/ £10.99 GBP down to $9.99/£7.69.
Surreal Game’s first immersive experience was Surreal VR, another cross platform multiplayer that launched in 2016, receiving a nomination in the Viveport Developer Awards, becoming a runner up in the Connect category.
