Twisted Arrow is Loosed onto VR Platforms

Developer Phaser Lock Interactive has been experimenting with a new arcade-style FPS, only the player character is armed with a high-tech bow and arrow instead of a gun.

Futuristic FPS Twisted Arrow is available on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The developer compares the style of gameplay to that of the classic arcade light-gun game series Time Crisis, as such gameplay involves taking on hordes of cyberpunk-inspired enemies like armoured mechs, attack drones, futuristic tanks and cyborgs. The high-tech bow that the protagonist is armed with can shoot a host of different types of arrows, from standard steel-tipped arrows, to explosive arrows and freezing ice arrows, there is even a type of arrow that enables a temporary shield. As such there is an element of strategy that must be brought to the table in order to survive the powerful enemies that surround the player.

Movement within the game uses teleport-style, for which the player must move to a pre-defined teleport area to move to the next location. This is justified within the game world as the player character being in possession of a teleportation device.

Twisted Arrow is currently available on Steam with 25% off the usual retail price, bringing it down to £11.24 (GBP). The offer ends on 30th March, at which point the usual price of £14.99 will apply once again.
