Spry Fox Videogame Beartopia Announced For Google Daydream

Cute co-operative village building game Beartopia has been announced by developer Spry Fox today. The Seattle-based developer have previously worked on Road Not Taken, Realm of the Mad God and Bushido Bear.

Spry Fox say the gameplay will be entirely co-operative. Players can mine resources, build objects and buildings such as lighthouses and keep animals.

Spry Fox chief creative officer Daniel Cook said at GDC’s Google Developer Day keynote; “We wanted to build a home for the Spry Fox bears. It is our firm belief that every single game player is an immigrant into the worlds we build, and that we have a duty as creators to ensure that our communities bring out the best in people.”

The game is currently exclusive to the Google Daydream platform, and further details – including a release date – are expected over the next few months. You can watch the announcement trailer below.

VRFocus will continue to keep you informed on further updates on Beartopia.
