During the Unity keynote speech at GDC today, Principal Designer for Unity Labs, Timoni West announced during her presentation that Unity would be commencing the search for their first ever Artist In Residence.
West said of the announcement; “Unity is proud to support artists who are pioneering the intersection between technology and art. We’re looking for ideas that will defy genre and challenge our traditional understanding of immersive experiences.”
The successful applicant will have access to internal help and tools at Unity and will be expected to engage with the creative community and bring feedback to developers to further enhance Unity, effectively acting as a Community Manager as well as working on their own art projects.
Projects can be Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual reality (VR) or mixed reality (MR). The job will commence in Spring 2017. Those interested in applying can do so via Unity’s Careers web page. The winner will be announced within a month on the Unity blog.
