Insta360 Nano Can Now Live-Stream 360-degree Video to Twitter and Periscope

Compact consumer level 360-degree cameras began arriving in stores last year, allowing anyone to record their own immersive videos. They come in a variety of designs with Insta360 creating the Nano, a camera designed to work with iPhone 6’s and its various derivatives. The camera has been able to live-stream direct to Facebook since launch, now Insta360 has announced expanded support for Twitter and Periscope.

The Insta360 Nano camera natively integrates with Periscope to support live 360-degree video, which will enable anyone with the camera to 360 live-stream events, travelling, parties, gigs, festivals, sports activities or anything else they may like straight to Twitter and Periscope.

“The Insta360 Nano is the premier clip-on camera solution for iPhones, and we are pleased that our collaboration with Twitter allowed us to be the first camera to support this exciting new feature,” said Maximilian Richter, Insta360’s Senior Marketing & Partnership Manager. “Twitter live 360 video brings you one step closer to being there, and Insta360’s line of cameras are the ideal and easy-to-use equipment solution to make any video extraordinary.”

Currently everyone on Twitter and Periscope can watch live 360-degree videos, but at present only selected partners can go live in 360 via Periscope. Twitter will be rolling the feature out during the coming weeks.

Insta360 also revealed that the upcoming CES 2017 event in Las Vegas next week would see the company unveil a new product. It’ll be holding a press event on 5th January for an 8K professional 360-degree camera.

The Insta360 Nano is available from retailers worldwide with a suggested price of $199 USD. For any further updates from the company, keep reading VRFocus.
