Virtual reality (VR) companies such as The VOID, Zero Latency and HTC Vive with Viveport Arcade, are bringing larger room-scale to warehouse sized experiences to consumers around the world. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by the casino industry because this week Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, Washington, US, has announced the installation of a VR facility by VRstudios. The VR system is being offered in the casino’s nightclub, Club Galaxy. Available as both one and two-player experiences, VRstudios will transport guests into one of three videogames: Time Zombies, Barking Irons and planktOs: Crystal Guardians. As the name suggests, Time Zombies is about killing hordes of the undead in an old Victorian looking town. Barking Irons is a wildwest shooter, while planktOs: Crystal Guardians is a bubble-blasting experience in which players are charged with the task of protecting precious crystals from tainted fish by purging the fish with a jet stream of bubbles.
“People of all ages are loving this riveting new experience. Some customers are so enthralled they’ve played VRstudios’ games more than 15 times in a single night and then returned the next evening for another round of fun,” said Junior Maldonado, Entertainment Manager of Muckleshoot Casino.
“With VRstudios, Muckleshoot Casino is now home to a new form of entertainment never before offered, not only in the region, but in casino gaming,” said Conrad Granito, General Manager of Muckleshoot Casino. “We chose VRstudios for its superior VR capabilities and rich immersive content. Our groundbreaking partnership ensures our ability to continually offer the newest forms of VR games. It reflects our commitment to delivering unique, must-experience entertainment to our guests.”
Alongside Muckleshoot Casino, VRstudios has been continuing its worldwide expansion. In September the company revealed it had secured new customers in France, Russia and Italy, all keen to implement its immersive wireless tech.
VRFocus will continue its coverage of VRstudios, reporting back with any further announcements.
