It has been known that we feature the odd behind the scenes 360 degree video here on our thrice weekly visit to Life In 360° but this one is a little different. We’re off to visit the set of a film that it is likely our Western readers will not have heard of. However, if you live in India it is one you are likely very excited for indeed.
The film in question is Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, the sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning, a 2015 ‘Tollywood’ film. That means it was a film created in the Telugu language of India, although it was also filmed at the same time in Tamil. Baahubali was a big hit, earning massive takings at the cinema, breaking records and receiving critical acclaim and recognition both nationally and internationally.
The video, created in partnership with the AMD Radeon Technologies Group, takes us to the set of the film where you are guided as a ‘special guest’ through an army of extras dressed as soldiers, into one of the locations in the Mahishmati Kingdom. Of course it is surrounded by blue screens on all sides. From there it is up to the top of the pyramid to take in the views, but several of the actors are around to also give you a tour.
VRFocus will be back on Friday for what normally be our last scheduled visit to 360 degree videos for the week, but will instead be the beginning of daily visits through to the new year. We’ll see you then.
