Get in on Some Winter Fun with Snow Fortress for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift

Not snowing where you live? Jump into some winter fun with Snow Fortress!

Wave shooters are all the rage in virtual reality (VR) at the moment, but first-person shooter (FPS) videogames can offer many more things than alien or zombie hunting. Snow Fortress, now available for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift with Oculus Touch, is a more family-friendly approach to the genre, bringing winter fun to VR in strategic snowball fighting.

Snow Fortress is a VR snowball fighting videogame with a difference. Players will have the opportunity to build their own snowball fort before engaging in player versus player warfare. Unlock tools to protect your fort and destroy the snowman’s fort in single-player while protecting your own against waves of attacking snowmen, or play against friends in online multiplayer.

A variety of weaponry and defensive assets are available, including a slingshot for high velocity shots and snowmen to protect your own fortress. Developer Mythical City Games has stated that Snow Fortress was ‘created from the ground up for room-scale VR and supports both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift’, with the Oculus Rift version requiring Oculus Touch controllers but not demanding full 360 room-scale; two forward facing cameras are sufficient.

Snow Fortress is available for both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift with Oculus Touch now, via Steam, priced at £6.99 GBP. VRFocus will keep you updated with any further VR works from Mythical City Games.
