If you’re itching for some virtual reality (VR) adventuring, with puzzles and monsters galore, then tomorrow developer Glo Inc. will be releasing its take on the genre with Unearthed Inc: The Lost Temple. Supporting both the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, the videogame mixes up Indiana Jones-style adventuring with a sci-fi twist when it arrives on Steam.
The videogame takes place in 2040, but its story begins many thousands of years ago. Glo Inc has crafted a tale of an alien entity known as the ‘Dragoon Goddess’ who inhabited the Earth along with three unhatched eggs which were her offspring. An early tribe called the Urmo worshiped the goddess, building temples in her honour. In tern she blessed the land with an abundance of life. Travelling forward to 1900, knowledge of the tribe and their goddess have faded away and the Blackrock Miners Inc has now claimed the resource rich land. But prosperity doesn’t last as one day all the miners disappear with no one daring to enter the region since. Fast forward again to 2040, and its now as an agent tasked with unraveling these ancient mysteries that players find themselves.
While puzzle solving is at the heart of Unearthed Inc: The Lost Temple, with all manner of object to interact with, the title will also have players fighting against giant spiders, zombies, evil spirits and more. But you’re not defenseless, there are magical abilities to utilise with telekinesis playing a major role in defence, attack and for solving puzzles.
In addition to tomorrow’s launch on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, Glo has announced that Unearthed Inc: The Lost Temple will be coming to PlayStation VR and Google Daydream in early 2017.
