In June indie developer Funktronic Labs released its real-time strategy title Cosmic Trip on Steam Early Access for HTC Vive. Now the studio has confirmed the virtual reality (VR) title will also make its way to Oculus Touch for launch day.
Set as a quirky interstellar adventure with a 1960’s inspired graphical theme, Cosmic Trip requires players to build and command swarms of small flying robots to harvest resources from hostile alien worlds, whilst defending against inhabitants.
Built from the ground-up for VR, the Oculus Touch version of Cosmic Trip will feature several new additions to the original title. These include several new weapons (energy shield, bubble gun, and weapon upgrades), new enemies, new bots to command (assault drone, medic drone) and new game modes. Some of which can be seen below in Funktronic Labs’ latest trailer.
There’s less than a week to go until Oculus Touch launches on 6th December. Over the past few weeks developers have been gearing up for the launch by announcing their videogames ahead of Oculus’ official reveal of the 50+ titles that are set to be available.
Developer’s making their own announcements have included: COLOPL Inc. with Dig 4 Destruction, Fierce Kaiju with Viral EX, I-Illusions with Space Pirate Trainer, PlaySide VR with Zombie Riot, and South Korean developer HandMade Game’s CRANGA!: Harbour Frenzy.
