Axon, a business unit of TASER International will be at this year’s International Association of Chief’s of Police conference in San Diego, California. For the event it’ll be showcasing a virtual reality (VR) experience that offers a unique 360-degree view on how the Axon network of devices and apps enables them to go with confidence from the field to the courtroom.
After the conference the VR experience will then be downloadable for iOS or Android through the Axon Insider app, and by visiting Axon.io/VR there’s a chance to receive a complimentary VR headset from TASER.
At the conference TASER will announce the release of the Axon Flex 2, an update to the Axon Flex camera. The new model a host of improvements including an increase in video quality from 480p to 1080p, new mounting options, better battery life and increased field-of-view (FoV). Initial shipments of the Axon Flex 2 will begin in December 2016 with full production beginning in Q1 2017.
TASER will also present its new on-demand Transcription Service for Evidence.com, a new 24/7 service will allow Evidence.com users to order transcriptions of video and audio files on a pay-as-you-go basis from trained, US-based typists. Within about 24 hours, transcriptions of body camera video, in-car video, interview room video and audio.
