There’s no shortage of spooky Halloween fun for virtual reality (VR) gamers this weekend and today another experience has launched for HTC Vive. Coming from Astral Domine and Cyberphobia developer Spectral Illusions is Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery, a 25 minute single-player experience.
Set in an abandoned tourist attraction, Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery features two sections, a shooting gallery for players to test their skills before jumping onboard the mine cart ride for an on-rails shooting experience.
Kerry McCarn-Ostir, Executive Producer, said: “Abandoned theme parks and roadside attractions have such an interesting look. It’s a place that embodied joy and fun, but, once they’ve sunk into disrepair, the creepiness oozes out. It’s an environment that can evoke a huge emotional response.”
“This is the first part of a larger story we have planned for future releases,” says Director/Developer Rob Ostir. “I’m pretty much obsessed with dark rides and haunted places in general and have always wanted to create a haunted mine themed experience. Virtual Reality is the perfect medium for that.”
Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery can be downloaded through Steam for £5.99 GBP, and checkout the gameplay trailer below to see what’s in store.
VRFocus will continue its coverage of Spectral Illusions, reporting back with any further announcements.
