Over the past couple of weeks details on Oculus’ motion controllers, Touch have been circulating online through various retail sites. German retail outlet Media Markt listed Oculus Touch with suggested launch on 21st November 2016, with a retail price of €199 EUR. Then another European retailer Saturn also listed the same price. Today UK videogame specialist GAME has revealed a price for the motion controllers.
Appearing on Twitter, an image of a GAME store display shows a price of £189.99 GBP, with customers able to pre-order with a deposit of £50. That equates to approximately $212 USD for US customers.
After the previous price suggestions by the other sites its not too much of a shock that the UK price would be near the £200 mark. But it still means Oculus Rift owners are going to have to spend a considerable amount of money to enjoy the added benefits the Oculus Touch controller bring.
The price also brings the Oculus Rift with motion controller support a lot closer to rival HTC Vive which has included the functionality from the start.
There’s still been no official announcement from Oculus itself on prices and release date, but that is expected to come at the Oculus Connect 3 conference in a couple of weeks time.
The company has been listing several Oculus Touch compatible titles on its website for awhile now, with videogames including: Dead and Buried, Ripcoil, Killing Floor Incursion, SUPERHOT, Wilson‘s Heart, Giant Cop, The Climb and many more.
