The Oculus Rift launched all the way back in March and among the titles available for those fortunate enough to have received their headset was Tammeka Games’ Radial-G: Racing Revolved. Since then the studio has released incrimental patches but today sees the release of a major update to version 1.1. There’s been a couple of sneak peeks at what was to be included, with new ships and weapons among the biggest additions.
Three new ships have been included, Omni, Uriel and Ursa, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. To get a closer look at each ship Tammeka Games has uploaded models to Sketchfab which can all be seen below.
The studio has also decided to put a greater emphasis on combat adding several new weapons to the roster including: Mines for slowing down opponents who are behind you, an Auto Cannon that locks onto enemies for easy shooting, fire and forget Homing Missiles plus many more.
Several new race modes have also been added to compliment the new weaponry, with a Race Combat and Combat Championship now available. Race Combat is for online multiplayer or racing against AI while Combat Championship is just for single-player.
VRFocus got its hands on the new build of Radial-G: Racing Revolved so check out the preview to see what we thought.
