A couple of weeks ago Square Enix and Gree Co announced a collaboration with HTC Vive to bring its popular Japanese card videogame Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur to virtual reality (VR). Only a few screenshots were released at the time but now the debut trailer for Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur VR has been released.
The trailer isn’t just your average gameplay video, as its been shot with a cosplay actor in mixed reality (MR), giving a better sense of how Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur VR works.
Gree wanted to create a unique VR title with its own storyline and content, separate from the series its based-on. From the video shown so far, Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur VR will be far more physically involving than other VR card titles, with players having to actually attack their enemies, not just pick a certain attack card.
Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur VR is currently on demonstration at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2016 with a beta that showcases newly developed content.
The videogame will be HTC Vive exclusive, previously confirmed by Jack Tong, President of North Asia, HTC: “We are now extensively working with the global leading Game Soft creator and developer, Square Enix and its partner, Gree to launch the VR version of Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur VR, one of the best-selling mobile card games worldwide, exclusively on HTC Vive.”
Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur VR is scheduled to launch on HTC Vive in Spring 2017, and VRFocus will continue to keep you up to date on the latest announcements.
