Has it really been another week already? Astonishingly it has. Today is set to be a very busy one for the VRFocus team as we get the final things ready for our very first game jam, Virtual Reality Challenge (VRC). Myself and Zeena will be looking after the jammers for the duration of the weekend and you can expect all sorts of pictures, video and updates across our social media.
Today’s trip into 360 degree video related updates comes not in the form of a 360 degree video, but a video about filming in 360 degrees. What does filming in 360 mean? What are the problems and pitfalls? The five-part behind the scenes series charts the activities of Radical Plans, an Italian company who have created a brand new documentary in 360 degrees called No Borders. Filming with No Borders: 360° VR Truth charts the issues faced by refugees who are fleeing persecution, war or other hardships into Italy.
To quote makers The Foundry: “We followed their journey to witness the challenges, obstacles and triumphs they encountered along their journey. Our candid five-part ‘making of’ series shows you the true picture of what it takes, warts and all.” You can find out more about the series here, which also features guest commentators from VR companies such as Visualise (Audi, Mosul Museum, Thomas Cook Airlines, iExplore VR) and Framestore (Merrell Trailscape, Volvo, more…).
You can see the trailer below. Life In 360° returns to VRFocus next week with more 360 degree video news and projects.
