If you want to put your feet up and relax in virtual reality (VR) there are various experiences on offer that can help players wind down. Some offer meditative options, putting viewers on pristine beaches to while away their stress while others offer more interactive options. Daedalic Entertainment and Crazy Bunch are planning a series of relaxing videogames for Samsung Gear VR with the first one being Chinese classic Mahjong.
Relaxing VR Games: Mahjong takes the popular title game which features Chinese characters and symbols and combines it with modern VR technology. The title features over 160 different templates on photorealistic 360-degree backgrounds to play on. While the traditional game can be played with up to four players, Relaxing VR Games: Mahjong is a single-player experience but the core principle is still the same, exposed pairs of tokens have to be removed until the whole board is cleared.
The title is currently available on the Oculus Store for Gear VR for $2.99 USD, and the videogame supports both the touchpad and Bluetooth controllers. Daedalic Entertainment and Crazy Bunch will be bringing more classic games to the Relaxing VR Games series in the future, but haven’t yet said what they might be.
While Relaxing VR Games: Mahjong has only been released for Gear VR currently, the developers do plan to support Oculus Rift and Google Daydream as well.
