Theme parks seem to not be strangers to bringing in virtual reality (VR) as one of its main attractions, but now Seaworld in Orlando is jumping on the bandwagon and has announced a VR rollercoaster to be one of its latest attractions to join the list next year, called Kraken.
It is detailed that those who get on the VR rollercoaster next summer will experience a deep sea mission where they can travel along with extinct sea creatures, including the Kraken as it is so named. There isn’t much more explanation than that, other than “the addition of VR to this fan-favorite brings a new level of excitement and interest in Kraken, for both new and returning guests.”
“We are extremely excited with the scope and depth of the new attractions and events coming to our SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks in 2017,” said Joel Manby, President and Chief Executive Officer of SeaWorld Entertainment, in a press release. “In developing new experiences we want guests to have fun, but also be inspired, and our parks are uniquely suited to create meaningful and fun vacations.” He added, “We want our guests to share experiences that matter, and our 2017 additions truly reinforce that mission.”
All that we know about its release date at the park is Summer 2017, so keep your eyes peeled for more information on that as it comes closer to the opening date. Until then, stick with VRFocus for VR news, updates, and features.
