Reload Studios will be showcasing the highly anticipated World War Toons at PAX West 2016, Seattle, the studio has confirmed to VRFocus. A brand new build will be available for all attendees of the show at the brand new ‘VR Village’ area.
World War Toons is a first-person shooter (FPS) designed for virtual reality (VR). Players will enter a unique cartoon-styled world as they aggressively hunt and kill the enemy team. Reload Studios has worked long and hard to ensure that – against all common logic – World War Toons is an FPS experience that does not induce simulation sickness.
The new playable version of World War Toons that will be presented at PAX West 2016 will showcase the newly revealed map and gameplay mode, Pyramid Scheme, as well as four new characters which have not previously been revealed. It’s not yet been confirmed which head-mounted displays (HMDs) that World War Toons will be playable on at PAX West 2016, though the videogame is currently in development for PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift.
World War Toons is currently expected to launch alongside the PlayStation VR later this year and has recently been revealed to be a free-to-play title. On PlayStation VR, the videogame will be compatible with both DualShock 4 and PlayStation Move control schemes: ensure you’re ready for launch day with VRFocus‘ guide to PlayStation VR accessories.
PAX West 2016 takes place 3rd – 5th September 2016, with the VR Village located at the Westin Seattle. VRFocus has already reported on High Voltage Software’s attendance at the show and will keep you updated with other VR videogames available to play.
