HTC Vive Now Stocked by Newegg
The e-retailer now holds stock of the HTC Vive.
Online tech retailer Newegg has announced today that’s its now selling the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD).
The US-based e-retailer now has stock of the HMD which it’s selling directly to customers for $799 USD. The headset is the latest to be added to Newegg’s bewildering array of virtual reality (VR) devices and accessories.
“We believe the Vive represents an important step toward mass-adoption of virtual reality,” said Merle McIntosh, Newegg’s SVP of Sales & Marketing. “Our customers are eager to embrace the latest and greatest VR technology, and we are happy to add the Vive to our extensive VR offering.”
Alongside VR headsets Newegg also sells everything a gamer needs to get setup in VR. From all-in-one PC’s and laptops to graphics cards, accessories and everything in between, the retailer is another PC focused specialist that’s making sure it can provide all that’s required for VR enthusiasts in this rapidly growing field.
The announcement continues HTC’s push to make the Vive as readily available to as many customers as possible across the globe. From the company reducing its shipping time from its own online store to 2-3 days in June, and making accessories like the motion controllers separately available, to expanding the sales channels in Japan and the Vive X Accelerator Program to help nurture more content, the worldwide push by the company has been gearing up significantly since the HMD’s launch in April.
It hasn’t all been good news, initial shipments were delayed for some pre-order customers, and from today UK customers will now have to pay £70 GBP more due to currency fluctuations.
As the HTC Vive continues its worldwide push to be a dominant force in VR, VRFocus will bring you all the latest announcements.
